Balochistan Factsheet – intensification of repression by Pak Army

It has been only two weeks back that Pakistan army got its new chief, General Qamar Javed Bajwa on 29th of November. He is from 16 Baloch Regiment, but is said to have handled Kashmir affairs for a long time and has overseen a number of brutal crackdown by Pakistani army in Pak-occupied Kashmir. Gen Bajwa was awarded for this by being promoted to the rank of Major General and served as the force commander of Gilgit-Baltistan region of POK.

On 14th December 2016 self-exiled Baloch leader ‘Khan of Kalat’, Mir Suleman Dawood Jan Ahmedzai, popularly known as a king without his kingdom has sought the support of Bangladesh on these grounds to raise their concern on international forums against the ongoing rampage by the Pakistani forces and radical Islamic terror organizations inside Balochistan. “They (Pakistan) are committing the same atrocities that they had committed with you” he added in Dhaka.  He has been forced to live in Britain since 2007 and working from there to gather international support.

Since General Bajwa took over human right violations and abuses in POK, have intensified and the Baluchis are facing intense repression, below is a list of the latest atrocities committed by the Pak Army on the people of Balochistan. While the world watches in anguish and many others keep silent over it we wish to bring this brutal repression by the Pak Army before a wider audience.

Some glaring examples of Pakistani Military offensive against Baloch natives since General Bajwa came in charge of Pakistan Army:

29th Nov: Two common Baloch killed during Sangsela military offensives and 13 were abducted from Bolan.

30th Nov: Pakistani forces abducted and killed five unarmed Baloch in a fake encounter in Talli area of Sibbi.

01st Dec: Pakistani forces abducted 14 women and children during unwarranted attack on unarmed civilians in Bolan’s Senjaval area.

03rd Dec: 22 common Balochs abducted from different areas near CPEC route.

03rd Dec: 13 people were abducted from Makran and DeraBugti area of Balochistan province.

03rd Dec: Pakistani forces abducted 9 Baloch from Drachkoh and Solo Bazar area. Victims were identified as Hasil, Raheem, Asif, MohdBakhsh, LalBakhsh, KhudaBakhsh, Dad Mohd, Fazal and Bakhshi.

04th Dec: 15 people including a 60-year-old man and his three sons were abducted from Kech.

04th Dec: Twobalochs were killed and several women and children were abducted fromKahan.

04th Dec: Pakistan forces abducted 4 Balochfootball players from the football match, they are missing since then.

05th Dec: Pakistani Military in its offensives operations in abducted 3 more innocent Balochs from Gohrag Bazaar.

05th Dec: Pakistani forces attacked, smashed the windows of a Hospital in Kumbeel area and abducted SaeedBaloch.

05thDec: Pakistani Army raided a house in Zehri Area of Khuzdar in Balochistan and Abducted 10 Baloch Civilians.

06th Dec: 19 people were abducted from different areas of Balochistan in a series of Military raids.

07th Dec: 23 Civilians were abducted during raids conducted in Sholig village in the early morning hour.

09th Dec: 44 people were abducted byPakistani forces in two days to appease Chinese boss to silence the ongoing protest against the CPEC.

12th Dec: Five Baloch civilians including a school teacher were abducted in a pre-dawn raid conducted by Pakistani army in Bolluw area of Mand.

It has been estimated that since the Bajwa became the army chief of Pakistan more than 200 Baloch civilians and activists were abducted and are missing.  All this has happened within two weeks.
